Team Prize Fight Wins Several NABF Awards
MEMPHIS, TN – Prize Fight is honored to be recognized by the NABF as it’s 2011 Promoter of the Year as well as having it’s own Nate Yoder being recognized by the NABF as it’s 2011 Matchmaker of the Year. This past year saw Prize Fight’s top prospects Shawn Porter and Fernando Guerrero rise to prominence and capture NABF titles at Welterweight and Middleweight. “It is an honor to be recognized by such a first class organization such as the NABF. Porter, the NABF Welterweight Champion and the #11 World Ranked Welterweight by the WBC, was named the NABF Prospect of the Year. Porter, 18-0 (13 KO’s), earned the NABF Welterweight Title on October 15, 2010 with a bloody ninth round stoppage of Hector Munoz in Miami, OK. He most recently defended the title by winning a convincing unanimous decision over Anges Adjaho this past February in Salisbury, MD.
Guerrero, the NABF Middleweight Champion and the #4 World Ranked Middleweight by the WBC, was named the NABF Fighter of the Year. Guerrero, 21-0 (16 KO’s) captured his NABF Middleweight Title on July 16, 2010 with a convincing ten round unanimous decision victory over Ishe Smith in Southaven, MS. Moreover, he followed up his victory over Smith with a stoppage win over Saul Duran and most recently a dominating unanimous decision victory over Derrick Findley this past February in his hometown of Salisbury, MD.
