Chris Buford of Memphis, TN, showed a tremendous heart in his bout with Terrence Roy of Riley, TN, by standing right in front of Roy and taking some great shots. There was a great deal of action in this fight as most of it took place at center ring with the exception of the one time that Roy cornered Buford and work him over. Buford eventually punched his way out but lost a UD to Roy.
Ken Milligan (222 lbs.) had Superman in his corner last night at the New Daisy but was unable to come out on top when he faced a game Richard Bonds (221 lbs.). Milligan went to the body well and landed some hard shots as Bonds landed clean punches up the middle with his jab and straight right. Milligan spent a lot of time on the ropes but not necessarily because of pressure from Bonds and when this happened Bonds was able to pick his shots. In round 3 Milligan showed the crowd some life with some great counter punching but is lured into a corner. Bonds goes to work and knocks out Milligan’s mouth guard. Milligan then takes a standing 8 count. Bonds quickly resumes his pressure landing some brutal shots and at 2:40 of round 3, Milligan takes a knee. Milligan can’t chooses not to continue.
