V3 Fights were fought in front of a lively, electric and packed crowd at Minglewood Hall Saturday night, September 22. JC Martin of was there to report on the round-by-round action as it played out in front of him at octagonside.

Bout 1: Josiah Johnson (3-5) vs Chance Wilson (6-0)

Round 1: It would appear a good portion of the crowd is solidly behind the Hyperblend fighter Josiah Johnson. Johnson with an early triangle choke attempt from his back, but Wilson fights out. Johnson with another triangle attempt from his back, but Wilson drops hard punches and hammerfists and Johnson is out cold!

V3FIGHTS: September 22!

The heavyweight championship is always the most prestigious title when it comes to combat sports. On September 22 at Minglewood Hall, V3Fights will host the biggest heavyweight fight that this area has ever seen. Champion Jeremiah Trundle (7-1) puts his belt on the line against top contender Jason Ostrowski (6- 0). This will be Trundle’s biggest test to date and his opponent is basically a mirror image of the champion. Continue reading

On June 16, V3Fights’ Featherweight Champion, Jesse James Wallace (11-1) will defend his title for the second time against top contender, Nick “Dynamite” Davis (17-9). Both of these fighters come into this fight with a great deal of momentum. Wallace comes into this fight fresh off of a TKO victory in round #1 against Sean O’Grady. Davis’ last fight for V3 was against Dalton Pierce, which he won via rear naked choke.

Both fighters have similar styles in that they both win most of their fights with their jiu-jitsu. Wallace trains out of Bang gym and has recently started cross training at Ole Miss BJJ while he is away at school. According to Wallace, “Nick is one of the top guys around so it’s going to be one of the best fights of the night.” Continue reading

Brewer submitted Rowe (4-1) by rear naked choke at 2:55 of the first round. originally stated Jerry Rowe defeated Ben Brewer in their contest.

V3 Fights gave local MMA fans a pre-holiday treat with an 11-fight card filled with six title fights Saturday night at Minglewood Hall. This is becoming the hottest ticket in town and you do not want to miss it! In the main event, champion Buddy Hooker will fight #1 contender Ryan Collins for the featherweight title. V3Fights outdid themselves once again with another sellout!  The standing room only crowd at Minglewood Hall witnessed some of the best MMA fights that this region has ever seen.  History was made last night when V3Fights crowned their first middleweight and heavyweight champions. Mike Houston and Jeremiah Trundle (both of Memphis Judo and Jiu-Jitsu) have V3 gold around their waste.  Teammate Brian Hall once again successfully defended his bantamweight title against Cody Chessor.  Joel Cooper showed why he is pound for pound the top amateur fighter in the state of Tennessee by defeating the very dangerous Wesley Sullivan.  V3 also crowned Dekaire Sanders as the new Light Heavyweight Champion. Sanders defeated local kickboxing legend Donnie Woods at the end of round two. Continue reading
